Connections 3 - connection, disconnection

CONNECTIONS – DISCONNECTIONS

So as we look at our connectedness and how we live our lives we can start to look at everything we do in terms of connection and disconnection. We can become more and more aware of our own energy, how we feel in our bodies and what we can do to feel better, more in flow.

Our areas of influence – our food, toiletries, clothes, homes are where we can ensure we strengthen our connection as well as energetically connecting with the Earth below and the Skies above.

But there are many areas out with our influence where the way we want to be is governed by others – work, education, travel, etc. – areas which we may interact with regularly. Often these interactions can cause us to disconnect as we align with the rhythm of the imposed structure which causes a disharmony with our natural regulation and cycles.

For example, we may work from home most of the time, online, where we need to be available at certain time of day. In some ways this will feel good as you can spend time in a place where you can influence the energy yet the constant electrical and Wi-Fi interaction whilst working causes us to become disconnected from the earth and our bodies as it focusses everything on the mind and charges us with positive ions.

To help us maintain our connection we can:

·       Visualise our grounded connection in-between meetings and work sessions, clearing your space regularly with the burning of herbs

·       Take regular breaks and go outside and change our focal length which reconnects us with nature and re-establishes where we exist within our environment

·       Regularly do some form of movement, outside if you can, to use the body and remind us that we are more than just the mind

Or another example, we may feel that we are truly connected at home, but we then interact with a busy train commute through a city to a large office environment for our work five days a week. When we follow a time schedule that is in disharmony with our natural rhythms, we feel disconnected from nature – we rush along and can get caught up with the tasks at hand and the people around us, often many floors off the ground with little view of the outside world. Our time might be governed by specific working hours or rigid systems.

To help us maintain our connection we can:

·       Close our eyes on the train and visualise our roots going into the Earth and light coming down into our crown from the Skies, sitting in stillness quietening the mind and becoming fully present

·       Take breaks outside, finding a green space to be in to refuel and restore our connection at a time that suits your natural hunger

·       Be fully present with those that you interact with, take your time, listen, speak your truth, maintain good boundaries

·       Take salt baths when you return home, reset your energy, give your mind a break, move your body, restore a loving environment for your being

·       Move and work to the beat of your own drum, find the rhythms that work for you

If we become aware of all that we do and notice the actions that cause us to become disconnected, notice when we get caught up in others’ ways or agendas, then we can act to change our behaviours, to find what helps us to feel good, find our rhythms, our beat, our life, our flow.

Not a static state but an everchanging dance in cycles and rhythms with the Earth below and the Skies above and Spirit all around, helping us, encouraging us to remember how to connect, how to live, how to know love and peace.
