Connections - as within, so without

CONNECTIONS – AS WITHIN SO WITHOUT

We also connect outwards from our bodies to the environment around us. Every situation around us is reflecting that which is going on within us.

When we are feeling stressed or anxious – that energy can reflect out from us and maybe cause disruption in our environment, we might miss our bus, not remember our pin number, rush, trip and stumble, chaos ensues. Our environment reflecting the churning and disharmony of our insides. In the same way, if we are calm and centred within, everything in flow within our bodies, absorbing nourishment, peaceful processing of life, we find that this transfers to the space around us.

The message is: Harmony on the inside – Harmony on the outside – Harmony on the outside – Harmony on the inside.

Allowing the energy to move from around us and within us allows for processing of life and that which we encounter each day. Our interaction with everything that is outside our body affects our connections and our ability to be in a state of flow:

The products we put on our skin - to our clothing - our rooms in our homes (especially our bedrooms where we rest and restore) - the wider building - the space outside or garden - the community - the land or country we live in.

Each layer has its own energy that affects us and either helps or hinders connection. If there is a lack of connection, we can feel cut off from others, our community, leading to isolation.

Ways that we can strengthen a positive connection to our environment and each other:

·       Eat well and nourish your body regularly and drink plenty of filtered water

·       Be aware of your energy and take steps to ensure you can be settled, calm and balanced

·       Use simple, natural skincare, if needed

·       Wear natural fabrics like linen, cotton, bamboo to allow your skin to ‘breathe’

·       Surround yourself with natural materials in your home

·       Create a nurturing peaceful haven in your bedroom, minimising electrics and synthetic fabrics

·       Surround yourself with items in your home that you love and fill you with joy

·       Keep on top of jobs in your life to keep things flowing and preventing overwhelm, regularly clearing out unnecessary items

·       Tend to your space outside – you are the guardian of this part of the Earth

·       Connect with your community – supporting others, using local services and finding support around you if needed

·       Find out about the history of the land where you live and honour its past and those that have gone before you
